Who Is The Founder Of Space Traveler?

The two entrepreneurs, mom Krissy Pruske and Rachel Lincoln, are Space Traveler’s founders. They were both mothers and came up with ideas for making life easier for families with children.

Their first product, Sleepyheadz, was released in 2013 and functions as a “nap mat and cushion.” Krissy pondered ways to prevent her children fight in the back of the family minivan as they traveled cross-country with her family in 2018.

She decided to segregate them with foldable laundry hampers to save space. She found that collapsible dog cages were necessary on her second trip, even though hampers worked well on her first trip.

This method proved quite effective, and it served as the impetus for building the Space Traveler’s prototype. Krissy and Rachel produced their initial prototypes in 2018 before being invited to appear on Shark Tank the following year.

Their website has already begun accepting pre-orders for their products, even though manufacturing has not yet commenced. They usually sell Space Traveler for $39.95, but they offer a “Shark Tank Special” for $29.95.

Space Traveler Before Shark Tank

Krissy Pruske and Rachel Lincoln have known each other for 30 years since they were youngsters in Covington, Louisiana. They were always inventive together. Their favorite activity was shopping at thrift stores and making clothes with the clothing they found. Currently, they live in Texas with their children.

They continue to relish their creative endeavors, frequently goods that improve people’s lives, like those made by Rachel and Krissy. They identify a wide range of unmet needs for their five children and work to meet them.

Moreover, they strive to improve items that already exist. They established Bright Ideas Design, LLC, to house all of their inventions. Krissy was looking forward to a well-deserved vacation in 2018, except for the cross-country trip to Montana.

The backseat of the car was crammed with three children. Would it be better if they could be separated? She settled on mesh laundry hampers after considering various options.

They aided but did not truly solve the problem. The next journey was to Orlando—a 16-hour drive from San Antonio. She experimented with folding dog kennels constructed of utility cloth. They were more effective but not quite the correct solution.

Rachel leaped at the opportunity to work with Krissy on a solution. This was an excellent opportunity for her to put her skills as an architect and interior designer with her master’s degree from the Rhode Island School of Design.

She and Krissy immediately set to work—in a garage, as so many of the most significant innovations began—creating the space traveler. Its exterior is made of durable fabric, and it is padded. It is 32″ high x 19″ broad x 19″ deep.

It compactly fits into a 13″ x 13″ x 3″ storage bag when folded. Each child in the back seat has their room. There are retractable mesh panels on the sides and cup holders in each compartment for storing the child’s stuff.”

The space traveler is compatible with the majority of vehicles and booster seats. However, it may also be used only with a seat belt. Rachel and Krissy created a prototype and arranged for a few examples to be manufactured in China.

Meanwhile, they waited for the first space tourists to arrive; they noticed that Shark Tank held open auditions in New York City. It was the perfect excuse for a girls’ weekend.

Even better, the samples arrived on time and were chosen to be included in the show. It will first be used on airplanes and trains and then in classrooms, such as for test taking or children with sensory processing issues.

How Was The Shark Tank Pitch Of Space Traveler?

Krissy and Rachel appeared on Shark Tank seeking an investment of $100,000 in exchange for a 33 percent stake in The Space Traveler.

Barbara offers $100,000 in exchange for 33 percent of the profits plus a $2 per unit royalty until she receives her money back. They are willing to accept.

The founder of Space Traveler accepts Barbara’s offer, and they leave the Shark Tank stage with a deal from Barbara Corcoran.

Final Deal: Barbara agreed to invest $100,000 for 33% equity of Space Traveler + $2 royalty per sale until $100,000 is repaid.
