Who Is The Founder Of Bee Sweet Lemonade?

Mikaila Ulmer is the founder and chief executive officer of Me & the Bees Lemonade. She was only four years old when she was stung twice in a matter of days by bees.

Mikaila is an entrepreneur and speaks at bee conservation events. She is currently a high school student.

Additionally, she is the founding director of the Healthy Hive Foundation, a non-profit organization working to conserve pollinators.

The first time Mikaila Ulmer was stung by a bee, she developed an aversion to them. After researching some ecosystem functions, she became intrigued by the crucial roles.

Bees taught her the value of collaboration and effective communication.

She was inspired to create a beverage using the flaxseed lemonade recipe of her grandma Helen while emphasizing environmental preservation.

Miss Ulmer is motivated by the protection of bees and averting their extinction.

Her entrepreneurial journey started when she participated in youth entrepreneurial events and set up a lemonade stand in front of her family’s house.

Moreover, Mikaila is motivated by knowing she is her employer and can earn her own money. She also wrote a book entitled “Bee Fearless, Dream Like a Child,” published by Penguin Random House.

Miss Ulmer says securing funding before her business could grow to its current size was the most challenging aspect of starting her company.

Bee Sweet Lemonade Before Shark Tank

Some of us seem to be born with an abundance of wisdom, yet it is said that wisdom and experience hone a great entrepreneur’s skills.

The founder of Beesweet Lemonade, Mikaila Ulmer, is one of them. Even though she was only nine years old on Shark Tank then, she made sure the sharks did not make immediate advances on her.

Mikaila was stung by two bees in a couple of days when she was four years old, and her mother, D’Andra, pushed her to research their role in the environment to help her recover from her sudden hatred of them.

Mikaila began researching bees and quickly became concerned about the decline of the global bee population.

D’Andra and Dad Theo helped Mikaila develop ideas for a new product she could present in a children’s business competition, the Acton Children’s Business Expo.

The family received a 1940’s cookbook that contained Great-Grandma Helen’s recipe for flaxseed lemonade at the same time.

Mikaila added flaxseed to the lemonade and sweetened it with honey as per the secret recipe as she had a flash of inspiration.

Mikaila began selling lemonade in grade school, and she set up a business to preserve honeybees while donating a portion of the proceeds.

She and her father, Theo went on Shark Tank together in March 2015 to grow their business.

How Was The Shark Tank Pitch Of Bee Sweet Lemonade?

Mikaila and her father entered Shark Tank seeking an investment of $60,000 in exchange for a 10% stake in Bee Sweet Lemonade.

Kevin declines first because of the price and his commitment as a full-time partner. Robert then references the competition in the beverage market.

Mark invites her to return after she completes her schoolwork. Lori extols Mikaila’s virtues, yet she is unable to sip lemonade. Thus, Daymond is left.

Daymond offered $60,000 for a 25% stake in Bee Sweet Lemonade for the ability of his east coast distributor to get it to stores. Mikaila accepts Mark’s offer, and the deal is done!

Final Deal: Mark Cuban agreed to invest $60,000 for a 25% stake in Bee Sweet Lemonade.

What Happened To Bee Sweet Lemonade After Shark Tank?

Bee Sweet Lemonade’s popularity has increased dramatically since it appeared on Shark Tank, and Mikaila’s new business partner appears to be flourishing.

She has also participated in several intriguing things outside of her lemonade business. She stated a few months after the segment aired that, sales were up more than 350%.

Bee Sweet Lemonade signed an $11 million distribution agreement with Whole Foods Market for their brand of lemonade to be sold in 55 stores throughout Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma beginning in April 2016.

It will be distributed to the entire East coast later in 2016.

Mikaila has received considerable attention; in March 2016, she was recognized by Movement50 (MVMT50), a technology coalition dedicated to supporting and recognizing African-American inventors.

Furthermore, there was a minor issue regarding a 2015 visit to the White House for a White House Kids’ State Dinner, where the young entrepreneur met President Barack Obama and the first family.

She will also travel to Cape Town, South Africa, later this year to speak to young women entrepreneurs about business and company ownership, following the recent good news about her Whole Foods transaction, which resulted in significant free publicity for the firm.

She has undoubtedly gained valuable knowledge through her business engagement with Daymond John.

She recently claimed that she maintains regular communication with the FUBU CEO and has learned much from her shark tank companion about focus and business growth.

She advises other entrepreneurs to start small and avoid being intimidated by the large competition. According to the young entrepreneur, anyone can launch a million-dollar firm with the correct combination of plan and hard work.

She encourages other entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams and never surrender. Mikaila, being only 11 years old, clearly has a big and intriguing life ahead of her.

She is likely to taste as good as the healthy, bee-friendly lemonade she made at a young age when she reaps the rewards of her hard work and success.
