Angel Shave Club Shark Tank Update

Shark Tank episode 1010 features Iskra Tsenkova and Brian Archambo, who present Angel Shave Membership, a monthly razor club geared toward women.

Iskra created the angel Shave Club after she could not distinguish her razor from her husband’s.

The entrepreneur decided it was long ago for women to have their monthly razor club, so she founded one.

Through Dollar Shave Club, the razor industry was revolutionized a few years ago by delivering affordable, high-quality razors directly to customers’ homes.

The world’s largest shaving company, Gillette, has joined the shave club bandwagon.

Angel Shave Club adopted this strategy since many everyday things can now be purchased via a subscription model.

Based in San Diego, Angel Shave Club promotes itself as the first shave club “for women, by women.” Iskra founded her company in the spring of 2016.

You’ll receive 8-16 blades every two to four months for about two dollars each. They also sell shaving cream and other supplies.

The best quality blades are available in a variety of soft pastel shades.

There are many “men’s” razor clubs that sell women’s items, and clubs target women. Iskra wants Shark’s help to control the market.

What Is Angel Shave Club?

The Angel Shave Club is the world’s first women-only subscription shaving service. Angel Shave Club is an all-female online boutique membership shave club.

The website allows subscribers to choose the handle and number of disposable razors they prefer and the frequency of their shipments (which can be changed at any time).

Who Is The Founder Of Angel Shave Club?

Iskra Tsenkova founded Angel Shave Club in 2016 after noticing women’s razors were more expensive than men’s.

The purpose of Iskra’s venture was to set up the first women’s shave club that didn’t charge women’s razors the pink fee.

Angel Shave Club Before Shark Tank

It is estimated that women spend an average of 72 days shaving their legs in their lifetime, according to Rebecca Lake’s article, “Shaving Statistics: 23 Remarkable Facts,” published on 6/6/15.

The time and money spent on razors and shaving cream add up quickly, not to mention the time spent shopping for supplies!

Angel Shave Club founder and CEO Iskra Tsenkova recalls reaching for her razor in the shower one day and finding out she and her husband have the same razor.

She purchased hers at a store, while her husband acquired his through a Dollar Shave Club subscription.

She’d spent more money on the identical razor, and she’d had to go shopping for it, whereas he had simply “appeared” on their doorway.

Tsenkova explained in an 8/3/16 interview with Michelle Dederko of pacificsandiego.com that she asked herself, “… how is there no such business for women?”?

She was a Bulgarian native who had lived in the San Diego area for nine years and worked as a sales representative and yoga instructor.

Tsenkova was born into poverty but desired to establish her own business.

She envisioned a club that would give razors in women-friendly colors and designs, delivered in a lovely box on a schedule that accommodated each member’s lifestyle.

She began developing the dream razor in October 2015 after finding nothing that met her vision.

Angel Shave Club received its initial funding via an Indiegogo campaign and formally began in March 2016.

Women would no longer be an afterthought at men’s shaving clubs but would subsequently have their boutique shaving club!

She earned around 2,000 subscribers in four months.

A subscription includes three or five blades made of high-quality US steel and equipped with a flexible head with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E moisturizing strips to help relieve inflammation.

The ergonomically designed handles come in two colors and provide a non-slip, excellent control grip.

It is possible to schedule delivery every two or four months, and delivery inside the United States is free.

The Angel Shave Club also offers an all-natural Shaving Soufflé prepared with Aloe Vera, Bentonite clay, and sweet Almond Oil, as well as a “First Shave Kit” that includes a razor, Shaving Soufflé, and other accessories to commemorate this coming-of-age event.

How Was The Shark Tank Pitch Of Angel Shave Club?

Iskra and Brian reach Shark Tank seeking $300,000 in exchange for a 10% stake in Angel Shave Club.

Following the distribution of samples and the description of their business, which generated $390,000 in revenue last year, objections began to flood in.

The Sharks are concerned that a larger player may offer a comparable service and suffocate them. The Sharks are also concerned about supply chain difficulties.

Finally, their valuation frightens all Sharks. No Shark believes that the investment is worthwhile and leaves empty-handed after a churn rate of 4 to 6 billing cycles.

Iskra and Brian leave the Shark Tank stage empty-handed without any deal from the Sharks.

Angel Shaving Club exited the Shark Tank in Season 10 Episode 11 but was quickly noticed by Quake Capital, which offered the women’s shave club a $200,000 investment.

Final Dea: No Deal between Angel Shave Club and Sharks.

What Happened To Angel Shave Club After Shark Tank?

Iskra and Brian’s appearance in the Tank was not all terrible news.

Angel Shave Club received a $200,000 investment from Quake Capital as part of its accelerator program.

Crunchbase reports that Quake is the world’s second most active investor in female-led companies.

Anthony Kelani, the Managing Partner of Los Angeles-based Quake Capital, stated, “We enjoy partnering with founders like Iskra who are developing products and services that address unsolved real-world challenges.”

Angel Shave Club is addressing a real issue in the shaving market by developing an alternative to costly women’s shaving products while also giving back to women worldwide.”

Regrettably, the company ceased operations in May 2020 owing to Covid-19.

There was considerable speculation that venture capitalists played a role in the company’s demise, although these are merely hearsay.

Is Angel Shave Club Still In Business?

Angel Shave Club operated for three years until ceasing operations in early December 2019 owing to a cash shortage.

However, Angel Shave Club’s former clients claim that it has relaunched as a less transparent women’s razor subscription service that was only launched a few weeks after the company announced its closure.
