Off the Cob founder Cameron Sheldrake has recently appeared on the Shark Tank show.

A natural corn tortilla chip company called Off the Cob Tortilla Chips is introduced to the Sharks in Shark Tank episode 612 by Cameron Sheldrake.

Cameron is requesting $100,000 in exchange for a 15% stake in Off the Cob chips from the Sharks. 

The first question Cameron asks the Sharks is, which would they prefer to eat, sweet corn or grain corn?

Sweet corn is a certified organic GMO-free yellow corn, certified organic GMO-free white corn, expeller pressed sunflower oil, cane sugar, and sea salt are the six ingredients in Off the Cob Chips.

The chips are made of ripe, sweet corn instead of traditional grain corn, so the flavor is reminiscent of corn on the cob rather than bland, starchy corn.

Sources of Corn Off the Cob come from small farms in the Midwest of the United States. Cameron’s chips are lighter, sweeter, and healthier than most processed chips, thanks to corn.

Who Is The Founder Of Off The Cob?

Cameron Sheldrake is the founder and president of Off The Cob Chips. He was a student at Babson College in Boston when he developed and eventually released the Off the Cob Tortilla Chips.

Sheldrake worked at Early Bird Farm and Garden Centre until 2019, when he was last employed.

Cameron learned about organic vegetables and developed an interest in them while growing up on his family’s farm in Ithaca, New York.

There has been some stunted growth at Off the Cob, which can be attributed to the manufacturing process of tortilla chips.

Off the Cob uses sweet corn rather than grain corn, which requires more time, resources, and expertise to grow, so the cost can be challenging to reduce.

Sweet corn is also a hot product, even though it is grown throughout the U.S. It can be grown year-round in Florida; it is truly remarkable when grown in the Great Plains (which begin in Ohio and extend as far as Iowa).
